What Inspired The Mawtini Collection?

Why Was Our Brand Born?

The Mawtini Collection was born to create beautiful and high-quality hijabs that combine elements of our rich culture and integrate them into our faith.

My mom told me many stories of the beautiful red roses that grew in Baghdad, Iraq, blossoming with colour amidst the dark days. Flowers awaken all our senses with their beauty and scent, reminding us of our homelands when we are physically separated.

Many people like myself long to visit our beautiful homelands, and this brand was created in commemoration of that. Basma Scarves was born to honour those living in/out of the diaspora and our parents, who sacrificed everything to give us the opportunities they never had.
